North Bay The District of Nipissing Housing Services are responsible for the funding and administration of social housing programs and work to prevent homelessness. Children's Aid Society - Kehoe Residence The Society has an independent living complex that has 3-2 bedroom units and 2-1 bedroom units available for youth in care transitioning to independence. These units are fully furnished with utilities and laundry included in the rent. This program delivers programming in a culturally responsive, flexible, and safe manner for all clients.

  • Assists in finding safe, affordable housing,
  • Coordinates support services as needed-can include parenting, health and mental health care, counselling, addiction services, cultural services, food support, job support, crisis counselling, and basic needs
  • Provides advocacy support-develop safety plans
  • Assists with basic housing needs, landlord advocacy, and service provider advocacy
  • Attends meetings and appointments for support and advocacy

Social housing is housing funded by various government programs in which tenants pay reduced rents. Muskoka The District Municipality of Muskoka's Social Housing program provides affordable rental housing for people whose income prevents them from finding adequate housing in the private rental market.
